“Triumph of ‘Outlaw’: A Breakthrough Web Series Captures Audiences Worldwide”
The web series titled “Outlaw,” currently available for streaming on the OTT platform Chaupal, has achieved remarkable success. This production, directed by Baljit Singh Deo and co-written and produced by Gippy Grewal in collaboration with Chaupal Studios, has taken the Punjab entertainment scene by storm. Its influence has reached beyond the borders of Punjab, garnering significant attention internationally. Astonishingly, the series shattered records by becoming the most-watched Punjabi web series within a mere 72 hours.
The gripping thriller of a web series centers around the narrative of Kaala, portrayed by Gippy, and his uncle, portrayed by Yograj Singh, who immerse themselves in criminal undertakings in Canada, ultimately evolving into outlaws. Alongside them, the ensemble cast includes prominent actors such as Prince Kanwaljit, who depicts Jeeta, a taxi driver who willingly embroils himself in the activities of Kaala and his uncle to amass wealth.
Reflecting on his portrayal of Jeeta, Prince Kanwaljit expressed, “I found immense pleasure in bringing Jeeta’s character to life. It was an unconventional role that I thoroughly relished embodying. Jeeta’s presence in the storyline acted as a catalyst, injecting a swift momentum into the narrative. ‘Outlaw’ marked my debut in the realm of web series alongside Gippy Grewal, and I am genuinely enthused by the positive response from the audience as this captivating web series continues to stream on Chaupal.”
Nitin Gupta, the Chief Content Officer of Chaupal, commented, “Beyond films, Chaupal has an array of original web series in the pipeline, featuring well-known figures from the Punjabi mainstream scene. Chaupal stands as a hub for consolidating Punjabi entertainment. Despite its relatively modest size, the Punjabi entertainment industry has displayed remarkable prowess in generating world-class content for audiences, both within India and overseas. Chaupal stands as the definitive destination for this thriving movement.”
