Remembering Sidhu Moose Wala: One Year After the Loss of a Music Legend

Sidhu Moose Wala continues to make headlines even after his decease. Today marks the first death anniversary of popular singer Sidhu moose wala. Shot dead at Punjab’s Jawaharke village of Mansa district on May 29 2022.

It has been one year since the singer left the world and his legacy behind. Sidhu Moose Wala’s Parents and his fans his death anniversary are overcome by emotions about his absence.

Born as Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu in a farmer’s family from Mansa’s Moosa village on June 11, 1993. Before stepping foot in Industry adopted the name Moose Wala which denotes Moosa village and his surname Sidhu. He gained popularity almost overnight with his song ‘So High’ which was released in 2017. Sidhu was Singer, actor, and songwriter. His first written song ‘License’ was released recently and sung by Ninja. The rise of Moose Wala was unfathomable and ‘So High’ is the song which helped him get his name of fame. Sidhu moose wala wrote and sang many songs during his career and was no stranger to controversies. Many of his songs were made to the news. Even after his death, Sidhu remains at the top of the headlines from time to time. Sidhu defined a whole new genre of Punjabi music. His song’s lyrics did a fantastic job of connecting to people.

During this whole year since his passing away, he has been remembered and loved by his family and his fans. 3 songs has been released after his death – ‘SYL’ which as in a dispute between Punjab and Haryana another song was ‘Vaar’ a track on Sikh warrior Hari Singh Nalwa and recently released the song on 7 April by his father Balkaur Singh ‘Mera Na’ with Nigerian singer Burna Boy which generated millions of views only in first fifteen minutes.

Moosewala has bagged several awards including the Brit Asia TV Music Awards. In September 2020, his song ‘Game’ with Shooter Kahlon, became his first song to chart on the Canadian Hot 100 by Billboard. The singer was often accused of promoting bad culture through his songs. But he was just clearly misunderstood. He never promoted guns or gangster culture but just wanted to bring the truth of society in front of people through his songs. A song doesn’t reflect what was he like as a person. Sidhu Moose Wala was a big name in the Punjabi Industry. It is definite that he would continue to live in the hearts of his fans and will continue to dominate the music scene with his songs and his simplicity. His legacy will live on throughout history and for the foreseeable future.
