New Delhi, August 30, 2025 – Simranjeet Singh, CEO of KableOne OTT, spoke at an industry panel hosted by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) on the theme “Navigating Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital Age.” The event took place at PHD House, New Delhi, and featured judges of the Delhi High Court, senior lawyers, and media experts.
During his address, Mr. Singh highlighted how damaging piracy can be for the entertainment industry. He explained that even a short delay in stopping illegal distribution—sometimes just a few hours—can completely destroy the commercial value of a new film release.
Drawing from his wide experience in mobile value-added services, global theatrical distribution, and OTT streaming, Mr. Singh explained how piracy has changed over time and why platforms must adapt quickly.

It requires three things: legal readiness with strong injunctions, fast monitoring to detect piracy, and close collaboration with CDNs, ISPs, and regulators. Only when all these work together can regional platforms like ours ensure that creators are rewarded and audiences enjoy content through proper channels,” he said.
The panel also discussed possible policy reforms, best practices, and the need for a joint industry approach to protect digital content. Experts agreed that safeguarding intellectual property is essential for helping regional media companies grow on a global scale.
