When Heartbreak Takes a Dark Turn:
What happens when an innocent dream is shattered and a vulnerable heart falls into the wrong hands? Preta explores this unsettling question through Honey, a small-town teenager whose life takes a dark turn after heartbreak leaves him emotionally lost. As a mysterious caller pulls him into a devastating act, an ATS officer begins a race against time to uncover the truth behind a city bombing, a bank robbery and the hidden force connecting them all.
The Story:
Punjabi cinema has often been loved for its warmth, humour and larger-than-life characters, but Preta steps into a darker space. The action-crime thriller follows Honey, a young boy who dreams of becoming a police officer and falls in love with his classmate, Risham.
Their relationship is separated when Risham’s family objects because of Honey’s modest background. Left heartbroken, Honey becomes vulnerable to the influence of a mysterious caller. What begins with emotional manipulation soon takes a shocking turn when Honey becomes involved in a city bombing.
At the same time, a major bank robbery takes place, creating another mystery for the authorities. The investigation lands with Ranbir, a divorced and determined Anti-Terrorism Squad officer. As he follows the clues, the two seemingly different crimes begin to reveal a much deeper connection.

At its core, Preta examines heartbreak, deceit, social disparities, and the repercussions of exposed decisions. The narrative examines how swiftly a typical life can shift when confidence is misplaced in an incorrect individual. The film features Mintu Kapa as Ranbir, with Vishal Kaushik as Honey, alongside Gurpreet Toti, Inderjeet Suchi, Bingi, Vikram Chauhan, John Masih and others. Vishal Kaushik has written and directed the film, while also handling its story and screenplay. Lucky Yadav serves as Director of Photography, and Ripu Daman Kaushik is credited as producer. The film is produced under RDK Movies, Jaipur.
According to the official CBFC record, Preta received an A certificate from the Delhi Regional Office on 24 June 2026. Its CBFC record also lists the film in Punjabi and confirms its principal production and credit details.
